Tragedy Strikes: Four-Year-Old Dies in Central West House Fire

A four-year-old child has died in a house fire in central western New South Wales. The blaze occurred at a home in Woodstock, about 20 kilometres north-east of Cowra, with a woman and two other children escaping the inferno.

Tragedy has struck a small town in central western New South Wales after a house fire claimed the life of a four-year-old child.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at a home in Woodstock, approximately 20 kilometres north-east of Cowra, just before 3pm yesterday afternoon. Firefighters arrived to find the property engulfed in flames.

A woman and two other children managed to escape the inferno, but the four-year-old remained unaccounted for. Despite the best efforts of firefighters, the child's body was later found inside the home after the blaze was extinguished.

The woman was taken to Cowra hospital in a stable condition with smoke inhalation. Police have established a crime scene and are conducting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
