Kai Allen fastest in Bathurst 1000 practice as Fords get engine change
As you're aware, Supercars have conducted Barometric engine testing over the last 12 months and recently completed a further test,
Kai Allen has set the pace ahead of Sunday's Bathurst 1000, topping the time sheets in both practice sessions on Thursday. Allen, driving the number 26 Grove Racing Ford Mustang, posted a blistering time of 2:05.5460 in the first practice session, more than three-tenths better than the next fastest driver.
The impressive performance comes after Supercars confirmed that the engine in all Ford competitors would be changed for this weekend's event. According to a note to teams, Barometric pressure testing before last year's Bathurst 1000 and again before this weekend found that the Ford engine lost power at high altitude.
