Titans' Lofipo Ruled Out as Broncos Take Commanding Lead

The Gold Coast Titans' NRLW team has suffered a significant blow ahead of their preliminary final showdown with the Brisbane Broncos, with lock Sienna Lofipo ruled out due to a head injury.

Lofipo was forced from the field early in the game after copping a knee to the head, and was subsequently ruled out after failing a head injury assessment. The incident also raised concerns about a possible broken jaw.

The Titans will have to overcome this loss as they attempt to comeback against the Broncos, who led 20-4 at halftime. Lauren Dam and Julia Robinson scored crucial tries for Brisbane, with the latter's four-pointer helping the reigning premiers take a commanding lead into the break.

Travel chaos also affected Newcastle fans trying to get to the men's preliminary final, with trains cancelled and an accident on the M1 causing congestion. Transport NSW advised passengers to delay travel or consider alternative options.

Broncos halfback Jesse Southwell said, "If you are travelling to the City from stations between Newcastle Interchange and Warnervale, delay your travel if possible or consider using other transport options."

Southwell also mentioned, "Buses may supplement or replace some trains between Morisset and Hornsby."

Titans fullback Lily Patston made a miraculous one-on-one tackle to deny Romy Teitzel a try, while Brisbane's Evania Isa'ako made a crucial play to stop Evania Isa'ako on the line.

The Broncos' dominance was highlighted by Jesse Southwell's clever play, which unlocked the Titans' defense and allowed Julia Robinson to score. Romy Teitzel also stormed over for another four-pointer, taking advantage of back-to-back penalties given away by the Titans.

The win will see the Broncos take on the Sydney Roosters in the NRLW grand final, with the Titans' loss ending their season.
