Man Charged with Alleged Stalking and Assault in Sydney's West

A man has been charged with allegedly stalking, choking, and sexually assaulting a woman at a park in Sydney's west. The incident occurred on September 18 at around 11:15pm in Airey Park, Homebush.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with allegedly stalking, choking, and sexually assaulting a woman at a park in Sydney's west.

According to NSW Police, the incident occurred on September 18 at around 11:15pm, when a 23-year-old woman was walking through Airey Park in Homebush, having just exited Flemington Station. The woman reported that an unknown man stopped her, restrained her, and dragged her into nearby bushland, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.

The woman managed to leave the scene a short time later. Almost two weeks after the alleged attack, police executed a search warrant in Padstow on Thursday at around 8:50am, seizing items from the property for forensic testing. The 27-year-old man was taken into custody.

The man was scheduled to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Friday. Police did not provide further details about the case.
